Jared Tristan Padalecki was born on 19 July 1982 in San Antonio, Texas, USA as the second child of three. On the father’s side he has Polish ancestors. Jared started to take acting lessons when in the age of 12. In 1999 he won the “Claim to Fame” Contest and had the chance to appear on the Teen Choice awards. Jared lived in San Antonio, Texas and attended James Madison High School. He was named a candidate for the year 2000 Presidential Scholars Program. After graduating in the year 2000, he moved to Los Angeles, California in order to pursue an acting career although he originally wanted to attend the University of Texas. In the same year he landed the role of Dean Forester on “Gilmore Girls“. He quit in 2005 for the role of Sam Winchester on the CW’s “Supernatural“, which he is still best known for today. Jared also appeared on several movies such as “House of Wax“, “Cry_Wolf” (alongside his ex-fiancée Sandra McCoy) and “Friday the 13th“. On February 27, 2010 he married Genevieve Cortese.
